Description We are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Stax Payments. This role will play a critical part in supporting financial planning, business decision-making, and operational efficiency across the company. As part of a small, collaborative finance team, you’ll have broad exposure across the business—from revenue modeling and unit economics to strategic planning and executive reporting. Key Responsibilities • Support financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning • Partner with business leaders to drive revenue analysis, pricing insights, and cost optimization across payment products and channels • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate new products, partnerships, and market opportunities • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness and quality presentations • Provide actionable insights on key performance metrics such as transaction volumes, take rates, interchange fees, unit economics and sales pipeline analysis • Analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to departmental standards • Support strategic initiatives, including scenario modeling for M&A, and market expansion • Develop and improve financial reporting processes, making use of current technologies and BI tools • Monitor developments in fintech, payments technology, business, and economic conditions to inform forecasts and business strategy • Inform investment decisions by analyzing financial information to forecast business, industry, or economic conditions Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure to the payments, fintech, or banking industry Strong understanding of payments ecosystem (card networks, acquiring, issuing, gateways, interchange, settlement flows) Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with ability to build models from scratch Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus Experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing business decisions with data Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial controls Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Skills Experience in high-growth fintech or startup environments Familiarity with data analytics tools (Excel, Claude or other AI tools,) Experience with automation and finance transformation initiatives Month end close process Reporting including board and bank presentations Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, churn) Strong business acumen with ability to translate data into strategic insights What Success Looks Like Deliver accurate, insight-driven financial analyses that support business growth Improve forecasting accuracy and financial visibility across the organization Drive measurable improvements in reporting efficiency and analytical processes Build credibility as a trusted analytical partner across Finance and the business Why Join Us Opportunity to grow within the finance function of a high-growth payments company Work closely with senior finance and cross-functional leadership Broad exposure across a dynamic fintech business with real impact on strategy Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
