Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Sun Life Health (SLH) business within Sun Life Canada is a leading provider of Group Benefits and Health Solutions. A market leader in the advancement of workplace mental health across Canada, through the introduction of new tools such as Lumino Health Virtual Care and Stress Management and Well-Being program providing members access to mental health and medical specialists 24/7. SLH is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its fast-paced and energetic Finance team.
Reporting to the Director, Financial Controls, Audit & Risk, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in executing and supporting control activities critical to the Sun Life Health business.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Review account reconciliations prepared by Financial Analysts to ensure they are accurate and meet SOX and Sun Life account reconciliation standards.
  • Prepare complex account reconciliations, identify, investigate, and resolve differences.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Validate, improve, and document key business processes and controls.
  • Draft ICFR/Error memos and technical accounting/application memos for new or changing businesses.
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet review and variance commentary.
