Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Tarion Finance team is responsible for financial reporting and control, tax and compliance, strategic planning and financial Planning & analysis, Treasury and working capital management, and capital budgeting.
The primary purpose of this role is to perform financial analysis and reporting as well as participate in project related work. Areas include financial reporting, budget and forecast, financial projects, system implementation, process improvement, research and analysis on new and emerging issues, and subject matter expert on tax related matters and financial accounting standards.
This is a hybrid role requiring working two (2) days in the office and three (3) days remotely, per week. (All remote work must be completed from your home office within the province of Ontario.)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Support the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting process including the review of reconciliations, working papers and journal entries, etc.
  • Prepare and review financial analysis (i.e. variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial performance metrics) to identify key insights and drivers impacting the company’s financial results.
  • Identify and resolve complex financial and operational issues that arise.
  • Participate in financial projects as required including system testing, data validation to ensure accuracy and functionality and help provide actionable insights and recommendations
  • Support the annual budget and forecast process, as required.
  • Provide ad-hoc research and analysis to drive informed decision-making for senior management.
  • Complete other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned
