GENERAL SUMMARY:

As a member of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to provide insights that shape our financial strategy and operational execution. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, thrives in a remote environment, and is passionate about continuous improvement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with data mining applications, data warehouse platforms, and BI tools
  • Familiarity with accounting system software a plus
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting processes
  • Knowledge of P&C Insurance industry and reinsurance principles preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Mathematics or Business Administration
  • 4-7 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A or similar role, preferably in the Insurance Industry
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and update SQL Server queries and other data extracts to support Finance team reporting needs.
  • Identify and investigate variances between systems and the general ledger; monitor and support resolution efforts.
  • Contribute to the automation of reporting processes, including the development of dashboards using data warehouse sources.
  • Support the annual budgeting and planning process by preparing pro forma financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including exhibits and executive presentations.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to business leaders.
  • Lead or support process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of FP&A operations.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as profitability analysis, cost optimization, and scenario modeling.
  • Work independently and proactively to identify and address opportunities for financial and operational improvement.
  • Support reinsurance-related activities, including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with overall financial plan.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and support special projects as assigned.
