Description

We are a fast-growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider with over 1,000 B2B customers in Canada and around the world. To support our expansion, we are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Controller to join our Finance team in our HQ based in Burnaby.
Reporting directly to our CFO, the ideal candidate is a CPA with substantial experience in the technology or software sectors, ready to actively manage our financial operations and contribute to our continued growth and success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within the software or technology industries.
  • Proven experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Contpaqi.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or Hubspot).
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and hands-on approach to finance.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end consolidated financial statements for Canadian and Mexican operations; familiarity with US GAAP preferred.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls across both regions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and manage company cash flow effectively.
  • Perform monthly cost variance analysis against the annual operating plan.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations for Canadian activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • File Canadian sales tax remittances.
  • Manage knowledge of corporate tax returns and transfer pricing filings.
  • Lead initiatives to automate accounting processes for improved efficiency in reporting, reconciliation, and routine tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize integration between accounting and other business systems.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Sales Commission reports.
  • Manage intercompany processes and understand transfer pricing.
  • Undertake additional ad hoc finance-related duties as required.
