Additional information can be found at:www.chubb.com Your Role The role provides critical technical and service support to the Financial Lines Claims team principally handling high profile, technical and complex claims.  The role will also assist in ensuring compliance with best practice guidelines, technical excellence in the management of the portfolio, guidance for team members and additionally will be a key element in our ability to deliver market leading claims service.    Your Responsibilities: * Coach and mentor Claims Examiners and Claims Specialists in technical matters, and seek technical assistance for claims exceeding delegated authority. * Analyse first loss reports to determine the nature, coverage, and scope of loss. * Conduct thorough investigations of reported claims, including potential fraud, securing and verifying all supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. * Establish accurate and timely reserves. * Maintain an active diary to ensure timely file progression and claim resolution, and promptly document all developments in the claim file. * Exercise sound judgment in evaluating and resolving claims, considering the nature of loss, liability, quantum, coverage, and policy limits; negotiate settlements where appropriate. * Recognise and pursue subrogation opportunities. * Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Claims, Customer Services, Underwriting, brokers, insureds, counsel, third parties, and their legal representatives. * Present claims effectively to the business. * Adhere to the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 and all other relevant statutes. * Control the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors. * Perform any other duties as required by the Claims Manager. * Take all practical measures to ensure the workplace is safe and without risk to health.
