Responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ministry of Affordability and Utilities is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing working papers, financial statements, notes and schedules for quarterly and annual reporting for the Ministry and related entities.
  • Supporting the design, review, and implementation of reconciliations of ledgers/systems.
  • Leading assigned Ministry financial projects and reviewing the work of others in Financial Services Branch.
  • Play a lead role on cross-government financial reporting and assurance teams.
  • Identifying, recommending and implementing required modifications to Ministry financial controls, policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable legislation,
  • Supporting the preparation of timely and accurate financial information, responding to Access to Information Act requests and public disclosure requirements, and ensuring a high degree of financial accountability and control in the ministry for accounting and reporting policies.
  • Designs financial systems and processes required to support reporting requirements.
  • Examining, analyzing and interpreting complex financial data and making recommendations for improvements to enhance the reliability of information in the financial statements
