ACCOUNTING AND BUSINESS ADVISORY SERVICES (ABAS) SENIOR

Cardiff – Hybrid working
Competitive salary - DOE
Permanent role
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (Flexible working core hours 10-2)
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts and Business Advisory (ABAS) Senior to join their Team.
To undertake preparation of statutory financial statements, outsourcing functions at clients and preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring deadlines and proper accounting standards are met.

Essential Qualification and Skills required

  • experience in an accounting practice.
  • ACA or ACCA part Qualified
  • Basic tax knowledge – how to prepare corporation tax computations
  • Computer experience – Sage, Excel, Word and ideally CaseWare
  • Previous experience of supervising junior members of staff preferable
  • Carrying out tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards from books and records.
  • Prepare accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements.
  • Check the work completed, produce review points for junior staff, monitor clearance of queries to ensure it is presentational and technically correct.
  • Calculate more complex areas for sets of accounts completed by junior members of staff.
  • Prepare accounts from records and produce set of financial statements.
  • Produce a short summary on key client issues and the contents of the accounts before passing to the Partner/Director/Senior Manager/Manage
  • Provide advice and recommendations to clients in relation to financial reporting matters.
  • Complete each assignment as far as possible before passing to the manager for review.
  • Ensure a high level of service to meet client’s expectations.
