JOB OVERVIEW

A Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of fire alarm systems in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments. The technician ensures that these systems comply with fire codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications. Their role is essential in protecting lives and property from the risks associated with fire hazards.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of Fire alarm systems is required.
  • Strong Understanding of NFPA codes, fire codes, and electrical standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and low-voltage systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license (for travel to job sites).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fire protection logbooks and records.
  • Prepare quotes and work orders.
  • Inspect and repair loose connections or circuit issues.
  • Program systems and devices as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers about new products and changes.
  • Share job status updates with team members.
  • Expected to work overtime as required.
  • Mentor junior technicians as needed.
