JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR ENGINEER – FIRE & SECURITY SYSTEMS

Location: Field-based, covering Birmingham to Norwich to Southampton
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000+ per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM start, 8-hour days

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Fire & Security engineering
• Proven ability to lead teams or mentor junior staff
• Comprehensive knowledge of:
• Fire alarms (BS 5839 Part 1 & 6)
• Intruder alarms
• Access control systems
• Automated gates
• (Optional but desirable: CCTV, integrated systems)
• Good working knowledge of British Standards and Health & Safety
• Valid UK driving licence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working with technology (laptops, meters, reporting systems)
• Strong organisation, initiative, and decision-making abilities

• Lead by example in delivering high-quality:
• Servicing and commissioning of fire & security systems
• Reactive fault-finding and repairs
• Technical troubleshooting and customer liaison
• Assist with project delivery: site coordination, client communication, technical problem-solving
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, supporting their development
• Ensure company documentation and standards are adhered to, maintaining full compliance
• Represent the company professionally with clients, maintaining strong working relationships
• Participate in the 24/7 standby rota as part of your leadership responsibilities
• Support your line manager with stock control, planning, and on-site quality assurance
