Description

Responsibilities :

  • Always ensure that fire safety requirements contained in the Fire Emergency Response Plan are complied with
  • Conducts checks and remove any fire hazard that is found in the premise
  • Oversees the maintenance of the fire safety system in the premise
  • Educates the occupants in establishing a fire safe environment
  • Trains the occupants in basic firefighting and rescue
  • Ensures that all occupants are familiar with the means of escape located within the premise
  • Prepares and executes Emergency Response Plan for the premises
  • Conducts at least two (2) fire drill per year in the premises
  • Conducts at least two (2) Table-Top or In-Place Protection (IPP) in the premise each year
  • Prepares and implements the Arson Prevention Plan for those Premises.
  • Supervises the operation of the Fire Command Centre
  • Sets up a fire safety committee made up of suitable staff from the occupants
  • Notifies the commissioner immediately of any occurrence of fire incidents in the premisesAlways ensure that the occupant load of any part of any building does not exceed the capacity prescribed under the Fire Code

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental and occupational safety and health or in any related Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 -12 years of working experience with Marine and Offshore industries
  • Must be a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM
  • Preferably in the Oil and Gas/ Shipyard industry
  • Assess confined space for safety entry and work certification
  • Risk Management Training Course
  • Work at Height Assessor certification
  • Occupational First Aid & AED Course
  • Incident Investigation
  • Internal Auditor training course for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001Must be able to travel overseas when required
