ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Firmware & Electrical Engineer to join our Technology Development team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in firmware and electrical design, who is passionate about solving real-world problems in the geotechnical and civil engineering domains.
You will take a lead role in developing cutting-edge instrumentation and sensor systems used in infrastructure monitoring, soil and structural testing, and other critical applications. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will drive technical development from concept through deployment while mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the future of our technology offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and maintain embedded firmware for data acquisition and wireless monitoring systems
  • Program microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ARM Cortex-M, TIVA) in C/C++
  • Implement communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN, with strong networking understanding (ethernet, DHCP, TCPIP)
  • Optimize firmware for low power consumption and rugged operation
  • Lead schematic design, PCB layout collaboration, and hardware prototyping
  • Design and integrate analog/digital circuits and sensor systems
  • Conduct system-level testing, including EMI/EMC and environmental validation
  • Design electronics for long-term use in remote, outdoor environments
  • Perform bring-up and validation of new boards and embedded systems
  • Support deployment, troubleshooting, and iteration based on field performance
  • Document firmware architecture and hardware integration procedures
  • Work closely with geotechnical, mechanical, and software engineers
  • Serve as a technical lead on projects and mentor junior engineers
  • Coordinate cross-functional development efforts and ensure project timelines
