POSITION OVERVIEW:

The position of Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Winthrop Capital Management (WCM) is a senior level position. We are seeking an experienced Fixed Income Portfolio Manager to join and lead our investment team.
The position requires a disciplined, organized, and engaged individual who can contribute positively to our culture in a team-oriented environment. The successful candidate should have the ability to think critically, assist in leading the investment process, work with key clients, oversee workflow streams within established processes, and provide leadership to the investment team. The position reports to the Chief Investment Officer.
This role involves managing portfolios of credit and securitized assets with a focus on investment grade credit, asset-backed securities (ABS), collateralized loan obligations (CLO’s), Collateralized Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), and non-agency residential mortgage-backed (RMBS) securities. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of securitized products, proven portfolio management expertise, exceptional writing skills, and the strategic insight necessary to navigate complex market environments. In addition, knowledge of insurance portfolio management is desired.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience managing fixed income portfolios. Proven experience of successfully managing CLO’s, ABS and RMBS
  • Proven credit analytic skills
  • Proven track record of managing people and processes
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of quantitative methods and models
  • BA/BS degree required (MBA, MS and/or CFA are pluses)
  • Strong mathematics and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

· Assist in the maintenance of asset allocation and portfolio structures for client portfolios.
· Assist with the review of credit analysis

· Analyze performance and risk attributes of portfolio total return

  • Develop and execute investment strategies for credit and securitized products portfolios, focusing on asset selection, risk management, and return maximization while ensuring compliance with investment policies, regulations, and client objectives.
  • Work closely with the research team to assess risk, underwrite potential investments, and identify relative value
  • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to identify value-added investment opportunities within the credit and securitized products space
  • Present investment thesis and portfolio structure to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Leadership role in the firm’s investment committee meeting
  • Participate in the firm’s marketing and fundraising efforts as needed
  • Actively engage with market participants, including brokers, banks, and counterparties, to source investment opportunities
  • Influence the buildout of proprietary software and new technologies to facilitate portfolio management processes
