We are seeking to recruit a Forensic Civil/Structural Engineer within our London team. You will work as part of the construction dispute team working on heavy civil engineering projects requiring forensic analysis of various structures including concrete structures (ranging from a concrete hard standing to a RCC dam) and steel structures (ranging from a steel truss to a cabled bridge). The challenge is to assess the current condition of the structure, diagnose the status of the design and construction in relation to code compliance and good industry practice, identify any deficiencies and effectively communicate them with nontechnical audience, and potentially propose practical remedial measures to remedy the observed defects with minimum disruption to the operation of assets.
This is a technically demanding role, and we are seeking candidates with a strong interest in forensic engineering. The ideal candidate will have considerable ability in the detailed structural analysis and investigation of structures, and the ability to bring considerable creativity to resolving structural problems and deficiencies. The work requires a detailed understanding of structural principles and detailing in concrete and steel structures with a focus on heavy civil engineering. As part of the role, you will:
