Your next career opportunity As the Senior Freedom of Information (FOI) Analyst at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing transparency and regulatory compliance across the institution. You'll manage complex FOI matters, develop strategic frameworks, and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency. This role offers you the opportunity to shape best practices in information governance, influence university-wide policies, and contribute to a culture of openness and accountability in one of Australia's leading academic institutions. Your responsibilities will include: Expert Advisory: Provide high-level advice on complex and high-risk FOI matters. Operational Improvement: Lead projects to streamline FOI processes and implement best practices. Compliance Leadership: Monitor and ensure adherence to FOI Professional Standards. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of performance metrics and improvement strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with diverse teams to align FOI practices with broader governance frameworks. Capability Building: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance FOI understanding across the university. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced FOI professional with deep subject matter expertise, possessing strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments in large organisations. You may also: Hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent extensive experience. Demonstrate deep knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic) and FOI Professional Standards. Show proven ability to lead operational improvement initiatives and develop compliance frameworks. Have experience managing complex FOI matters in large, diverse organisations. Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for navigating regulatory challenges. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication abilities for preparing high-quality documentation and delivering training. Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills for influencing diverse stakeholders. Show ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Have a proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement. Be willing to work occasional hours outside of normal business hours.
