Fluid is building the Shopify for direct-sales. We’re moving fast, growing fast, and need exceptional Front-End Designer/Developers who truly get how to craft compelling user experiences within an AI-first architecture. We’re the infrastructure layer that makes direct-sales actually work for modern businesses. Think Shopify, but for the $200B direct-sales industry.

WHAT WE NEED

We’re looking for a master of both design and development, with a deep understanding of how to translate complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful, and highly functional user interfaces. You have strong design instincts and can make thoughtful decisions about information architecture, visual hierarchy, and user flows that solve real business problems.
We need someone who can design and build excellent interfaces first and foremost. We also use AI thoughtfully across our platform to enhance user experiences, and you should be comfortable working with AI-powered features when they make sense. Your core strength is creating compelling user experiences that work for our e-commerce customers.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Strong Front-End Expertise: 5+ years of experience with front-end development including:

• Rails, especially with Liquid or component-based front-ends
• Modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Next.js experience.
• Building polished interfaces in a Rails-based theme engine
• Building custom work with tools like React and Tailwind

Design Acumen: A keen eye for visual design, a strong understanding of UI/UX principles, and the ability to contribute to design decisions that prioritize user needs. Experience with Figma, Illustrator, Webflow, and/or similar design tools.
AI Integration Mindset: Whether you’ve built AI-powered features before or can clearly articulate how you’d approach AI integration in user interfaces, we want to hear your thinking. We’re looking for someone who can think architecturally about how AI changes how we build and interact with software.
Architectural Thinking: Ability to consider the broader system implications when designing and developing front-end solutions. Understanding of how frontend decisions impact performance, scalability, and user experience.
Startup Ready: Comfortable with a fast-moving startup pace, adapting to evolving requirements and contributing to a dynamic environment where you’ll wear multiple hats.
Direct Communicator and Team Player: A clear and concise communication style, fostering effective collaboration within our tight-knit team. We want someone with a collaborative and positive attitude that values kindness, respect, and supporting each other’s success. We’re building a team of people who make everyone around them better.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your best work, including examples that highlight both your development skills and your design sensibilities. How have you improved customer experiences in what you’ve built? If you’ve worked on AI-powered features, we’d love to see them. If not, tell us how you’d approach integrating AI into user experiences.
