In this impactful role, you will lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of advanced software solutions across both project and support/maintenance streams. You’ll be expected to quickly gain mastery of our existing frameworks and technology stack, while driving innovation and mentoring junior engineers.

Ōu Pūkenga | About you

  • Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to software engineering best practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely in requirement analysis and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Architect and implement new product features with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Contribute to and evolve our shared component library.
  • Consistently deliver on sprint commitments and proactively manage risks to timelines.
  • Champion Agile development practices and continuous improvement.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Analyse and implement changes based on design specifications and stakeholder requests.
  • Conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs) to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Respond swiftly to production incidents, troubleshoot effectively, and implement robust solutions.
  • Oversee release and deployment activities, including logging outcomes and documenting technical procedures.

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in web development, with deep expertise in JavaScript and React. Commercial or personal projects demonstrating capability are welcome.
  • Strong understanding of service layer architecture and integration patterns.
  • Solid grasp of UX/UI principles with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven experience in product development and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies including (but not limited to): Java, JavaScript, React, Redux, Redux-Saga, SASS, HTML5, Jest, React-Testing-Library, Webpack, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Selenium, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in functional programming concepts and their practical application.
