This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer - Backbone Player in France. As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Backbone Player team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a high-performance HTML video player used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, designers, and data analysts to deliver cutting-edge features and optimize the video streaming experience. This role combines hands-on development, performance optimization, and mentoring of junior engineers, allowing you to make a tangible impact on product quality and user satisfaction. You will work in an agile, highly technical environment, either remotely or from a modern office in the heart of Sophia-Antipolis. Accountabilities: · Develop new features, fix bugs, and ensure a smooth, high-quality user experience across multiple browsers and devices. · Maintain and modernize the HTML video player codebase, following best practices in testing, CI/CD, and coding standards. · Write and maintain technical specifications and documentation for the codebase. · Mentor junior engineers and support the growth of the engineering team. · Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, user-centric features. · Optimize performance through observability, runtime and bundle analysis, and code improvements. · Strong proficiency in Git, HTML, CSS (vanilla), and JavaScript (vanilla). · Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and state management (React/Preact preferred). · Hands-on experience building advanced reactive web applications using modern tooling. · Knowledge of performance monitoring, observability, and optimization techniques. · Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Rollup, or esbuild. · Experience with unit testing frameworks (Jasmine, Jest, Vitest). · Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical skills. · Excellent communication skills and comfort speaking English in a professional setting.
