JOB SUMMARY We are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of controller experience as this person will be DOING the accounting! Must be efficient and meets all deadlines on closing out the financials, direct communicator, mastery of accounting and bookkeeping and a trustworthy and ethical person. WHAT WE OFFER Fully Remote (open to any time zone), 1099 Position Ability to connect with entrepreneurs and help expand their business Pay: $80K-$110k per year ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strict adherence to detail to produce reliable and error-free records, laying the groundwork for accurate financial statement Ensures that all transactions are recorded in adherence to standard accounting principles Using appropriate accounting and bookkeeping systems for accurate financial reporting and compliance. These systems range from software applications like QuickBooks to established procedural controls. Reconciling CRM, Banking, incoming & outgoing payments with QuickBooks ledger entries Adhering to and implementing accounting controls to reduce risk and potential fraud Prepares accurate and timely financial reports and key financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Contributes to financial analysis by maintaining the records required to identify and explain variances in financial data. Bookkeepers ensure all financial data is systematically recorded and categorized, which is crucial for identifying trends, unexpected discrepancies, and areas of financial concern. Meticulous management of new vendor service agreements, W9-s, AR, AP, Banking, ACH, Collections, credit cards, receipts and other financial aspects related to vendors and the business. Ensuring vendors are paid via ACH on time and accurate records are kept concerning vendor payments. Prepare and file Sales & Use tax, quarterly estimates, and Year End 1099 Forms Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (QB online and desktop) user Proven 10+ yr successful track record as both Sr. Level Bookkeeper and Controller (for at least 5 of those years) for relevant small business(es). (Over 5m a year revenue but under 50m likely so that the experience is applicable…) This person will be DOING the accounting (not just managing data entry clerks who will be doing the accounting.) Must pay attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, gap-catching and decision-making abilities. Accuracy is your middle name, every transaction is accounted for, every report is spot on. Strong & effective communication and interpersonal skills. The financial controller is the face of the accounting function to other departments in the company, educating non-financial people and enforcing company policies in a collaborative, rather than adversarial way.
