Want to shape the future of in-store shopping? Join us in creating smarter digital services and better self-service experiences where your ideas and skills can make a real difference!
We’re building digital services that make everyday in-store shopping smoother for both our staff and our customers. In the next few years, we’ll be putting a big focus on improving self-service experiences, and to make it happen, we are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our Fraud Control team. You get to play a big role in this team’s future and ways of working, since you’ll be the first internal engineer.
In Fraud Control team, our mission is to build an intelligent and impactful fraud control and loss prevention solution that supports honest self-service in our stores, by preventing misuse-related losses without disrupting the customer experience. The model enables data-driven, predictable, easily trackable and manageable self-service operations.
The most essential factor in the application’s operation is event-driven, combining data from different sources, and a learning system. The work is highly experimental, especially regarding the data sources connected to the service and your work will be widely impactful in Finland’s retail industry.
The goal is to support the increase of self-service in stores, and in the near future, the work will be strongly linked to supporting stakeholder teams that develop self-service applications. Another key stakeholder team in the store operations area is Sales Flow, which creates background services that support sales and whose chosen reference architecture for event-driven operations is expected to be followed by the area’s teams.
Your responsibilities and requirements
This is a newly gathered team and you will significantly influence the team’s operations and technical plans. The Backend Engineer role is the team’s first internal engineer role, and we hope that you have the ability to envision and implement the application to be a part of S-group’s operating environment. Product engineering skills are important as well as the ability to see the service as part of a broader context and understand the service’s significance in relation to other related services. The position requires solid senior-level expertise and the ability to mentor and guide others, but we hope that you are also a hands-on type of person. Understanding and interest in machine learning and handling large data sets is considered an advantage.
The team’s working language is currently English, but understanding some Finnish will make it easier to operate in the area.
Technology wise we hope from you:
