Support satellite solutions for the future of space data.
We are seeking experienced and driven developers to play a key role in the ongoing support and development of our innovative modular tool suite, for the next generation of earth observation satellite operations.
We offer an opportunity for you to demonstrate your insight, technical expertise and collaboration skills by working with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and developers.
Engaging with your team to solve issues up and down the satellite imagery infrastructure chain, addressing issues across the gamut of discovery, distribution, analysis, visualisation, commercialisation and management administration.
This role will give you exposure to the diverse range of uses for satellite imagery and the challenges associated with its acquisition and management both through development, and supporting customers and stakeholders with their deployments, management and support needs. As a result, applicants are expected to, at a minimum, have a security clearance of NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) to perform in this role.

JOB TITLE: Sr Software Engineer
JOB TYPE: Full Time.
LOCATION: Canberra or Darwin Office. Role may involve secondment on-site with clients.
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work in partnership with clients and stakeholders to ensure their deployments work as expected, and provide value,
  • Work with team to maintain and consistently extend and update API design and implementations, visual web interfaces and ensure their accuracy and ease of use by customers,
  • Assist in the design, planning and implementation of new platform and system features,
  • Field customer enquiries about the platform and any issues customers experience interacting with it, in order to plan remediation,
  • Collaborate in review and remediation of features in the platform to improve user experience and clarity where issues are found,
  • Advice and mentor other developers and team members wishing to build their development skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NV1 or better security clearance required.
  • Qualifications in software, physics, mathematics, or other relevant fields may be an advantage for some applicants.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years experience developing and maintaining non trivial API based web applications.
  • Must be experienced with server side rendering strategies and development without a client framework (hypertext & vanilla JS, not react, vue or angular).

SKILLS:

Required:

  • Experience and familiarity with the Go programming language.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of GeoInt and geospatial processing domains.
  • familiarity with the WCAGG accessibility guidelines and their impact.
