What it's about

You will develop the next generation of our cloud payroll system and work your way into one of the most exciting and technically demanding domains of the German software market.

At Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, we develop a product that tax advisors and companies throughout Germany rely on for accurate payroll, tax, and reporting month after month. You can expect to work with hundreds of wage types, constantly evolving legislation, and complex reporting procedures such as DEÜV, ELSTER, and DaBPV. What's crucial for us isn't that you already possess this specialized knowledge, but rather that you enjoy delving into complex topics, developing modern software solutions, and exploring new avenues with tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.

Your team

You'll work in a team of developers, business analysts, and test automation specialists. We work in collaborative sprints, regularly do pair programming and tech demos, and we don't just try out AI tools – we actively use them in our daily development work and strategically integrate them into our products.

Your tasks

• You will familiarize yourself with complex tax and social security law requirements and translate them into robust software solutions together with specialist colleagues.
• You develop full-stack features using Kotlin and Spring Boot in the backend and React in the frontend.
• You use AI tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as an integral part of your daily development work and help us to further expand the interplay between AI and software development.
• You contribute to architectural and design decisions, ask constructive questions, and help find solutions that can be agreed upon.
• You ensure high quality - with test-driven development, clean code and an eye for security issues in web applications.

That will impress us

• At least 5 years of experience in full-stack development using an object-oriented language (Java, Kotlin or C#) and a modern web framework for the frontend (ideally React).
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST interfaces, SQL databases and cloud platforms.
• A pronounced ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new professional domains and complex business processes.
• Practical experience or strong interest in the use of AI tools in software development and in modern development methods.
• Enjoyment in trying out new technologies and continuously developing one's own way of working.
• Fluent German and English.
