Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our client’s team in Philadelphia. This Senior Fund Accountant role involves managing fund and investment accounting processes while providing financial analysis and support to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of fund management to contribute to organizational success.
Oversee the lifecycle of fund activity, from establishing new funds in collaboration with donor services to managing fund closures and preparing related documentation.
Record journal entries and perform account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
Prepare and review quarterly fund statements, ensuring the accuracy of investment-related entries and addressing discrepancies.
Conduct fund-level financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
Reconcile gift subledger entries with the general ledger and ensure proper posting.
Assist in the preparation of financial schedules and documentation for annual audits and tax filings, including compliance reports.
Investigate negative fund balances and work with relevant departments to resolve issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance team.
The ideal Senior Fund Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Other requirements for the Senior Fund Accountant position include and are not limited to:
3+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated expertise in working with investments and/or investment accounting.
Outstanding analytical and organizational abilities.
Proven interpersonal, leadership, written, management, and verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to work independently with a competitive mindset and results-driven approach.
Advanced proficiency in software tools, including databases, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
