Gentle Goodbye Funerals is a locally owned, independent funeral home with a focus on compassion, dignity, and eco-friendly alternatives. We are now seeking a Senior Funeral Director / Coordinator to join our growing team and help us continue to provide families with the highest level of care during their most difficult times.
This is an opportunity to take on a lead role where your skills and experience will directly shape how families are supported, from the very first call through to the farewell service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement all aspects of the funeral service for families, ensuring every detail is handled with professionalism and care.
  • Work closely with families from first contact, guiding them through arrangements with compassion and clarity.
  • Arrange and conduct services, leading your team on the day to deliver a smooth and respectful farewell.
  • Create and oversee multimedia presentations (video tributes, livestreams, memorial content) to personalise services.
  • Oversee and support staff in their day-to-day roles to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of our services and community connections.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Funeral Director / Arranger-Conductor with the ability to manage the full coordination of services.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and support both families and team members.
  • A warm, empathetic, and professional manner when working with grieving families.
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a calm presence under pressure.
  • Competency with multimedia tools for video presentations and livestreams.
  • Collaborative team player who values working together for the best outcome.
  • Full unrestricted driver’s licence.
