JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive General Assistant to join our team on a live-in basis. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operations, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for hospitality and excellent customer service skills. Multilingual abilities are highly valued, as they enhance our guest interactions. The successful candidate will cover for the directors and be responsible directly to them. Training will be given with a view to adopting the responsibilities of this position in due time.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in hotel or hospitality settings is absolutely essential, notably running a bar and serving in a restaurant. Also kitchen experience at some level is necessary. A willingness to learn is essential.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are advantageous, allowing for effective communication with a diverse range of guests.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanour.
• A keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
• A full driving licence is necessary for this position.
• A personal licence under the Licensing Act is desirable but if not held the successful candidate will be expected to train to get one.

• Provide exceptional guest services by welcoming visitors and addressing their inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Assist in various operational tasks, including room preparation, maintenance of common areas, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Handle phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while managing reservations and guest requests.
• Assist the directors with staff management. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and assist in special events or functions as required.
• Maintain an organised workspace and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Cover for the directors when they are off duty or absent.
• The successful candidate will have the ability to work alone from time to time, e.g. when other staff have gone home towards the end of a shift.
