Description

JetBrains is a well-known international software development company. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we’ve strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. Our products are used by more than 11 million users worldwide, and 90 Fortune Global 100 companies are our customers.
While we’re best known in the developer community, JetBrains is home to 2500+ internationally minded professionals working from offices across Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia. If you’re passionate about meaningful work, tangible impact, and a collaborative culture that favors continuous improvement, you’ll find your place here.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and internationally minded Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Prague-based accounting team. In this role, you’ll play a critical role in managing and improving general ledger processes across a fast-scaling, multi-entity, global organization. You’ll take ownership of a broad range of GL activities, collaborate with teams across borders, and help drive automation and standardization initiatives.
If you thrive in a dynamic environment, welcome change, and enjoy solving complex problems with a structured yet adaptable approach, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger accounting.
  • Review and oversee day-to-day GL activities and document approvals.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Participate in the preparation of statutory, group, and audit reporting packages.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
  • Review and support VAT returns and other tax filings.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams in finance, tax, procurement, and operations.
  • Support ERP system improvements and financial automation initiatives.
  • Help define, implement, and optimize accounting processes in a scalable way.
  • Serve as a point of contact for international branches on GL matters.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead projects to address them.

As JetBrains continues to expand globally, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how our accounting function scales and evolves.
About You
You’re a seasoned GL professional with a global mindset and a hands-on approach. You’re energized by change, motivated by solving problems, and passionate about creating clear, efficient processes. You feel comfortable in international teams and complexity, and you’re excited to make a tangible impact through your work.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, ideally in an international or high-growth environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Czech accounting and tax regulations. Experience with IFRS or other GAAPs is a plus.
  • Strong command of MS Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
  • Fluent English (spoken and written). Ability to read and understand Czech in a business/accounting context.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Analytical thinking, organizational strength, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-driven mindset.
  • Experience with process improvement, automation, or system implementation is an advantage.

Why Join Us?

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in our financial operations and have the freedom to shape how we scale our financial operations across the world.
