About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Accounting team in Amsterdam. In this role, you’ll take ownership of general ledger processes for our Dutch entities, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and actively support internal controls, compliance, and process optimization across the finance function.

What You’ll Do

• Manage day-to-day GL accounting operations for assigned JB Dutch entities.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP, tax legislation, and internal policies.
• Support preparation of statutory financial statements and tax declarations (e.g., VAT, CIT).
• Responsible for preparation and submitting of CBS/DNB/CoC reports for assigned JB Dutch entities.
• Contribute to group financial reporting and consolidated audit support.
• Monitor and improve accounting controls, documentation, and workflow accuracy.
• Collaborate with Controlling and FP&A on variance analysis and reporting structure.
• Partner with internal teams on ERP developments and automation initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional projects affecting finance and accounting operations.
• Identify opportunities to optimize processes and ensure we have a scalable solution for our expanding accounting activities.

About You
You’re a seasoned GL professional with a strong foundation in accounting and a drive for process improvement. You’re energized by change, motivated by solving problems, you bring structure, and accuracy to your work — and you’re ready to take the lead in a collaborative, international environment.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within an international or multi-entity organization.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and local tax regulations.
• Proven experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit processes.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail and precision in financial data and reports.
• Strong communication in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and works effectively across departments and cultures.
• A process-focused mindset and interest in scaling finance operations.
