Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing Environment team in Ontario. The right candidate can work locally from our Ottawa, ON offices. AECOM can provide hybrid work options to give you the flexibility you need to do your best work.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or any related technical field.
  • +6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or demonstrated equivalency.
  • Registered professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Valid Class G Ontario license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in team leading is an asset
  • Experience in MTO projects for geotechnical engineering in all categories.
  • +10 years in geotechnical engineering and project management experience.
  • Ability to proactively assist in technical efforts and project team staf
Responsibilities
  • Assist or act as team lead and senior geotechnical engineer for geotechnical engineering for a wide variety of public and private sector clients.
  • Provide leadership through technical supervision and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Provide relevant feedback and instructions to team members and relevant updates to clients.
  • Adhere to project schedules, budgets, and objectives.
  • Participate in internal and external project meetings.
  • Write and/or review/approve reports and specifications and make presentations.
  • Assist other Project Managers in preparing field documentation and organizing field activities.
  • Perform quality control/quality assurance of field work, field data analysis and interpretation, and engineering calculations.
  • Assist other team members with the preparation of proposals and expressions of interest considering the methodology for undertaking potential projects.
