SENIOR GIS DEVELOPER:

On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Procom is searching for a Senior GIS Developer for a contract role. This position is a work from office position with 5 flexible WFH days a month. Office is located in Calgary.

SENIOR GIS DEVELOPER - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The project involves upgrading the ArcGIS Pro version, enhancing ETLs, and developing custom Addons. It also includes migrating web mapping applications from Geocortex to VertiGIS Studio. The aim is to deliver modern GIS solutions that enable the latest functionality for end users and optimize systems for cloud operation.

SENIOR GIS DEVELOPER - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Experience in design and development of web GIS applications using ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Web Experience Builder, and VertiGIS technologies.
• Experience in developing scalable and secured web services in a service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with JavaScript or ArcGIS JavaScript API for web application development.
• Experience in ESRI geoprocessing service development using Python.
• Experience with Geodatabase management and development.
• Proven experience developing map viewers with VertiGIS Studio.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

SENIOR GIS DEVELOPER – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Experience with developing FME services, including FME Workbench and the FME REST API.
• Experience in creating tools or scripts for converting spatial data between formats like CAD and shapefiles.
• Experience with agile development methodology.
• Experience with cloud environments like Azure, Google, or AWS.
• Oil and Gas related work experience.

• Responsible for full lifecycle development including design, development, testing, debugging, interface design, documentation, deployment, and maintenance of integrated GIS solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications for applications.
• Assist with analysis of business requirements and the design and development of web GIS application components.
• Design and develop GIS user interfaces (web map applications) using ArcGIS, VertiGIS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Design and develop web services using protocols like SOAP and RESTful, and data interchange formats like JSON, XML, and shapefiles.
• Develop custom addons for ArcGIS Pro using Python or ArcGIS Pro SDK for .Net.
• Assist with data integrity and quality assurance activities to ensure application stability.
• Analyze, problem-solve, and troubleshoot to resolve application issues.
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the leadership team.
