Join the General Ledger team on a fixed-term assignment to maintain financial accuracy during a strategic finance transformation project. Ensure continuity and timeliness of core accounting activities while collaborating with a global finance organization. Support accounting and reporting for Akamai entities and global processes across nearly 30 countries in the Americas, EMEA, and APJ regions. The successful GL Senior Accountant will guide accounting-related matters for cross-border transactions and lead the preparation and analysis of many complex accounting close areas. As a Senior Accountant , you will be responsible for: * Reviewing accounting activities and prepare month-end journal entries and accruals * Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, including cash accounts * Reviewing OPEX and COGS and perform monthly cost and variance analysis * Supporting month-end close in cooperation with internal and external Finance stakeholders (AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Business Finance) * Supporting statutory reporting and reconciliations between local and corporate books (GL, AR, AP, fixed assets) * Ensuring compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and internal controls, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: * Have a degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field * Have a solid experience in general ledger accounting, reporting, or audit * Demonstrate strong Excel skills (e.g. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) * Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset * Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities * Demonstrate fluency in English (B2+) and knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP; ACCA/PIBR accreditation will be an asset.
