YOUR NEW ROLE
This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change from time to time according to business needs:
- Responsible for drafting an Annual Compliance Plan that addresses the key objectives to mitigating compliance and other regulatory risk
- Responsible for compliance matters in relation to our Client’s services per applicable regulatory rules
- Responsible for the implementation of anti-money laundering policies, procedures, systems and controls and day-to-day oversight of its compliance with the rules in AML and any relevant anti money laundering legislation applicable
- Responsible for the following matters per applicable legislation, regulation, rules and guidance:
- The day-to-day operations for compliance with its AML policies, procedures, systems and controls
- Act as the point of contact to receive notifications from our Client’s employees
- Take appropriate action following the receipt of a notification from our Client’s employees
- In accordance with applicable laws, complete suspicious activity reports
- Act as the point of contact for our Client’s for competent authorities and the applicable regulator regarding money laundering issues
- Respond promptly to any request for information made by competent authorities
- Receive and act upon any relevant findings, recommendations, guidance, directives, resolutions, sanctions, notices or other conclusions described in regulatory AML rules
- Establish and maintain an appropriate money laundering training programme and adequate awareness arrangements under applicable rules and regulations
MLRO / Compliance Officer:
- Oversee the establishment of business in the from a Regulatory Compliance perspective
- Create a Compliance culture in Client’s companies
- Provide advice and guidance to the client on Compliance related issues
- Draft & implement relevant local Compliance & AML policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of regulatory rule breaches
- Monitor and surveillance through a risk based monitoring programme
- Provision of training to relevant client employees
- Foster good relationships with the all relevant regulators; and
- Provide independently of local senior management, a reporting mechanism for all Client employees.
- Assist Clients with obtaining the necessary Regulatory Financial Services permissions
- Act as a project management of the licence application process and advisory services to throughout the process including assistance with completion of the Regulatory Business Plan and all relevant application forms, liaising with the regulator with regards to the licence application
- Provide Compliance, Risk, Governance and Data Protection training for Clients
- Provide Compliance, Risk, and Governance advice to Clients
- Conduct Compliance, governance, Data Protections and Risk reviews / audits for Clients against the regulatory requirements
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE?
As to be expected, we are searching for someone who can bring a range of skills and experiences to enhance the team. As such, there are a few essential skills we are looking for
- A good understanding of the DFSA, FSRA, Central Bank, QFCRA, SAMA or another major international regulator’s regulations and regulatory framework
- Compliance experience (minimum 10 years) from a well-regulated jurisdiction, e.g. UK, EU, US, Singapore
- A professional certification in Compliance or Anti Money Laundering, such as ACAMS or ICA
- Management experience
- Arabic language skills (desirable)
- In country, on the ground experience in one of the Middle East jurisdictions (desirable)
- Existing network to leverage (desirable)
- Previous Board experience (desirable)
