Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position. We are looking for an individual to join our Mercer Government Medicaid Policy and State Operations team who is a policy specialist in Medicaid managed care. We are seeking individuals with expertise in how federal Medicaid rules and waivers can be applied to advance state Medicaid program goals. Candidates can be remote or based in the Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix or Washington D.C. office: Senior Government Consultant — Client Manager What can you expect? The Client Manager will participate in and help lead projects with Mercer Government’s clients You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a book of business with high-yield and/or large accounts and meeting personal sales targets and is accountable for a portfolio of a mid-large sized team of sales professionals representing a broad region or a mid-sized industry We will count on you to: Advise the industry or region on organization standards and best practices for account retention and expansion including opportunity identification through targeted market research, quantitative and qualitative presentation development and organization political awareness Develop methodologies for account prioritization and opportunity prioritization as dictated by the external business environment, competitor standing, account relationship status and the internal business strategy Approve major account delegation decisions leveraging an acute awareness to external market/industry factors, sales team capabilities, and cross-functional input and intervenes when conflicts or at-risk status accounts are escalated Develop and execute a market or industry specific expansion and marketing strategy informed by insights garnered from team members, competitor positioning, and the external and internal business environments to grow the sales portfolio Deliver appropriate custom solutions to accounts and advises on custom solution development for major portfolio accounts that sufficiently understand and address account objectives and expectations Manage the performance and human capital strategy, including hiring and talent management for a large team Become a frequent attendee and participant in industry events and conferences to build up a strong professional network, maintain proximity to the relevant market and represent the Company as a thought leader What you need to have: BA/BS degree required; Master’s degree in health policy, public policy, public health or related field preferred Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience required Demonstrated experience in application of Medicaid managed care rules and the authorities to waive these rules. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex projects and navigating challenging policy topics Excellent project management and interpersonal skills What makes you stand out? Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $151,000 to $302,500. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
