  • VPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation.
    The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Grants Officer (Diversion Programs) to provide a critical role within the Koori Justice Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in law, public policy, Aboriginal affairs or similar is desired.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Grants Officer will have the primary responsibility for supporting the delivery and grant management of the Koori Justice Diversion Program. Reporting to the Manager, you will work within a small team to support the administration of AJA related grants. Work is driven by close engagement with the Aboriginal Justice Caucus and Forum, ensuring community voice is at the heart of KJU’s work.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Support the administration, management, and implementation of the Koori Justice Diversion Programs (Local Justice Worker Program and Koori Women’s / Men’s Diversion Program).
  • Engage and work collaboratively with Aboriginal Community Organisations and other justice related stakeholders, to inform program design and delivery, ensuring initiatives are responsive to identified community needs, legal and policy reforms.
  • Co-ordinate capability opportunities including training sessions, team workshops, learning resources to strengthen program knowledge, cultural capability, and best practices across the programs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with the Victorian Aboriginal community.
