SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in Graphic Design with a minimum 5 years of Graphic Design or similar experience in an agency or in-house setting
  • A strong knowledge of design, typography, image manipulation and illustration
  • Experience in developing creative concepts across all traditional media platforms and knowledge of how they work, can work, or be reimagined to best serve clients
  • Ability to generate original ideas and visual concepts
  • Strong technical drawing skills
  • Adobe CS Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), MS Office or Google Input tools
    Proven experience in multiple phases of the design process including: conceptualization, design development, and design intent drawings. (CA experience is a plus), good knowledge of fabrication techniques and materials standards of exhibit design, excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and illustrative), and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER ROLE

The Graphic Designer will work closely with the creative team — and play a leadership role in creating memorable visitor experiences, as well as integrating text, images and media of all kinds. The Senior Graphic Designer works as a member of an integrated team that includes content developers, exhibition designers, media designers and developers, marketing specialists, and the client.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the Art Director
  • Participates in conceptual development and illustrate design concepts through a variety of mediums depending on the project scope of work
  • Develops graphic standards and hierarchies per project style and content
  • Attends internal and client meetings to understand the content and materials available to bring the exhibition graphic elements to life both interpretively and creatively
  • Develops designs from conceptual, ideation stage to the final design, construction design and implementations
  • Leads a team of designers and work in a team environment including Culture Collective staff, subcontractors, clients, suppliers and industry contacts
  • Presents confidently to client teams
  • Works within tight schedules, in a fast-paced working environment
  • Multi-tasks; able to lead and work on several different projects at a time
  • Travels to meetings and site visits as required by projects
  • Responsible for maintaining client missions and design objectives throughout the project
  • Disseminates work within the graphics team when appropriate; review and approve design deliverables as required
  • Provides updates and milestone deliverables to Art Director for review/input
  • Coordinates and manage meetings pertaining to graphic and interpretive development
  • Conducts design sessions with team to develop and monitor design and direction
  • Works with production teams to maintain design integrity within project documents and artwork, and to coordinate and itemise presentation deliverable, format and schedule
  • Responsible to project budget and schedule; coordinate with team leaders to monitor/manage design man-hours
