THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD

KBR is seeking experienced Senior Ground Systems Engineers to support the US Space Force (USSF) in architecting, developing, testing, and accrediting ground control segments for programs within the Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power (SSC/CP) Directorate. Positions are located in El Segundo, CA and Herndon, VA.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Master’s in Engineering or related discipline (software, systems, network, aerospace engineering, etc) and 12 years or more of experience
  • Deep understanding of mission planning at all levels throughout lifecycle: strategic, operational, and tactical
  • Knowledgeable with government Deficiency Review (DR) processes to include board establishment, execution, and DR disposition and management
  • Fluent in the fields of DoD Information Assurance processes to include, but not limited to, design, testing, certification, and accreditation
  • Experience with technical program management, systems engineering, and government acquisition of supporting ground segment infrastructures/services and space systems
  • Proficient in Software Systems Engineering, Design, and Architecture Development concepts and modern technologies to support ground segment integration
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Responsibilities
  • Applies expertise in all technical recommendations made and included in program documentation on ground control segment architectures as it pertains to integration with command and control (C2) applications and systems
  • Develops and documents program ground architectures, such as DoDAF architecture views, and Information Support Plans
  • Supports various systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, design, interface management, configuration control, data architecture development, verification and validation, integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration assessments
  • Manages ground segment technical and interface requirements, including mission partner integration and validation and verification testing of all interface connections
  • Supports development of systems engineering items such as CONOPs, requirements definitions (or features, themes, epics), system testing, algorithm document review, and interfaces to other application development efforts
  • Develops, updates, coordinates, and collaborates with program support team composed of multi-disciplined engineers for all program documentation
