We are looking for an enthusiastic Hardware Development Engineer to join our international team of great people (30+ nationalities!). You will work on new and existing hardware devices used to test and validate the security of chips used in a wide variety of products. Our market-leading tools enable security experts and product developers to find vulnerabilities in secure products by using a variety of hardware and software test techniques, combined with data analysis and clever visual representation of test results. For our hardware security testing tools, key factors for success are performance, accuracy, complex analysis of large data sets and reliable software-hardware interaction.
As a Hardware Development Engineer, you are part of a growing, cross-functional development team based in the Netherlands. Senior and Principal Developers in your team help you hone your skills every day. Together, you develop tools that enable analysts and engineers worldwide to make their products more secure. The team collaborates with external customers as well as with the analysts from our own Security Lab to learn which cutting edge technologies are most valuable for Keysight Riscure’s product portfolio. The close collaboration with users results in products that fulfil a customer need and have short time-to-market.

Responsibilities:

• Your work involves the complete Product Life Cycle: besides developing prototypes, you get them production-ready and write production documentation, you build setups for acceptance and compliance testing of products, maintain firmware deployment tools and assist engineers from production and customer support, as well as security analysts from our own lab.
• You work in a cross-functional team of product developers, creating new solutions for customers, and supporting them with fixes for current releases. Capabilities to develop software, firmware and hardware all in the same team!

Qualifications:

• Above all, you’re a tinkerer! You’ve been passionate about electronics and device development for years. There’s lots of things you’ve created or modified at work, at home and elsewhere. You have an innate curiosity about anything technical. Naturally, friends and family all approach you to fix whatever seems to be broken.
• You hold a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or you have vast experience working at that level.
• You have professional experience with hardware development activities such as Analog & Digital systems, PCB/PCA design, component selection, schematic design and EMC testing & certification. Tools of choice at Keysight include Mentor Graphics and Altium.
• You are a wizard when it comes to fine pitch soldering and have strong experience with building prototypes yourself.
• You are an electronics engineer with software affinity; you comfortably work together with firmware developers and can maintain tools, scripts and pipelines for firmware deployment (GIT, Jira, python).
• Experience with optics, filters and lasers is considered a strong plus.
• You have affinity with the field of hardware and software security or are passionate about growing in these fields.
