You will work on fire systems modules like panels, loop drivers and detectors, for instance flame and heat, supporting projects that go from concept to production. Our systems serve the maritime, energy, and land sectors, and your work will help create a safer world, directly contributing to Autronica’s mission of preventing accidents and saving lives. You will take a leading role in hardware architecture, schematic design, and collaboration with teams to bring innovative ideas from concept to production. This role combines hands-on engineering in our internal labs with close cooperation across cross-functional teams, allowing you to make a real impact while ensuring the quality and reliability of our electronic products. Your responsibilities as a Senior Hardware Engineer will be: * Creating specifications, architecture (including components selection), designing, and documenting reliable hardware solutions.  * Designing schematics and layouts for electronic devices. * Developing plans and conducting validation tests to ensure compliance with specifications. * Conducting engineering research for EN54 directive compliance and preparing devices for testing at external research units. * Developing and implementing production testing concepts for designed products. * Working closely with firmware and test engineering teams to ensure quality of the product. * Driving design reviews, mentoring less experienced engineers and contributing to best design practices. * Providing support and maintenance for deployed products (handling change management, end of life components, cost optimization, bug fixes). Who you are You are a positive, solution-oriented, and self-motivated engineer who thrives on collaboration and problem-solving. You enjoy working with international teams, communicating clearly, and contributing to projects that make an impact. Your curiosity and passion for new technology drive you to learn continuously, take initiative, and deliver results that exceed expectations. * Min. bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics or related fields. * Solid knowledge of analog and digital circuit design. * Experience in creating schematics and PCB layouts, knowledge of PADS Pro is a plus. * Strong background in embedded systems and microcontrollers. * Experience with creating BOM and working with PLM (Product Lifetime Management) systems. * Skills in performing circuit simulations and signal integrity analysis. * Knowledge of conduct design reviews and generate detailed documentation. * Ability to prototype and validate hardware designs through testing and debugging. * Experience in collaborating with firmware and software teams to ensure seamless system integration. * Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscope, analyzers, power supplies etc. * Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and signal integrity. * Knowledge of EMC compliance, testing procedures and troubleshooting. * Fluent in English (spoken and written) – required for documentation, technical communication, and collaboration with international teams and partners.   Nice to have: * Experience with EX standards and design for hazardous environments * Experience with functional safety standards for automotive or IEC 61508 * Background in power electronics or energy-efficient design.   What do we offer? * Interesting and challenging assignments in an international environment. * Possibility for an international career for the right candidate. * Possibility for support to further education on Master level. * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Flexible working hours  * Insurance and pension plans. Responsibilities
