Role Summary We are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Hardware Engineer to take full ownership of hardware development for an autonomously guided FPV drone platform. This role starts with rapid integration of off-the-shelf components and evaluation boards and evolves into full custom board and harness design. For at least the first six months, this engineer will operate as the sole hardware authority in the team and is expected to grow into a technical or team leadership role. Key Responsibilities Serve as the single point of ownership for all hardware solutions in the team (This is an Individual Contributor role ) Integrate and validate off-the-shelf hardware (flight controllers, compute modules, DC-DC converters, evaluation boards, camera modules, sensors) Design, release for manufacturing, and validate custom wiring harnesses Lead the transition from evaluation boards to custom rigid and rigid-flex PCB designs Design high-current power systems (up to 200A) alongside high-speed digital (e.g., MIPI) and analog (e.g., PWM) signals Ensure robust grounding, return current management, and power integrity Define and implement electrical, mechanical, and environmental protection for boards and harnesses, including EMI/RFI mitigation Support system bring-up, debugging, Lab and field testing Work closely with mechanical design, software, and system engineering Requirements Must Have Proven experience in hands-on hardware development for embedded, robotic or defense systems Strong understanding of power electronics, high-current systems, and mixed-signal design Experience with high-speed digital interfaces and signal integrity considerations Practical experience designing and manufacturing custom PCBs and cable harnesses Experience with EDA tools (Altium Designer – Significant advantage Other tools such as OrCAD or equivalent are also acceptable) High level of ownership and ability to work independently Multi-disciplinary system orientation Strong problem-solving with a Can-Do attitude and practical engineering mindset Clear communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration Motivation to grow into a technical lead or team lead role Advantage Experience with drones, robotics, or aviation hardware Ability to design, edit and self-manufacture simple boards for R&D purposes
