We have a current opening for a Senior Health & Safety Specialist to join our growing Environmental Health and Safety team.
This role will to oversee all aspects of Health & Safety for our commercial teams covering Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland. This role can be office based, or remote base in Germany. The role will require some regular time in our Munich office (eg. 1-2 days per week). Occasional travel within Europe is expected.
How you will make an impact:
You will coordinate health and safety (H&S) activities including offices, field and other activities with the primary goal of driving results in HS regulatory compliance, standards including ISO 45001, injury prevention, H&S risk management.
- Drive H&S regulatory compliance system to control compliance of applicable legislations.
- Coordinate H&S hazards identification of all activities within the region, support risk assessment and relevant control measure identification and support their execution.
- Support country implementation of applicable Edwards Lifesciences H&S Standards and Regional H&S Programs.
- Drive incident reporting, investigation, improvement, and H&S Performance.
- Provide guidance in Health & Safety Management based on ISO 45001 Standard and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to regional and global standard development and improvement.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. Engineering, Scientific, or H&S related) & related experience required.
- Proficiency in German and English is a must.
- Substantial understanding and knowledge of ISO and other relevant regulations.
- Relevant health and safety related certifications.
- Demonstrated health and safety experience in Germany and local legislation is essential.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills & ability to influence change.
- The ability and desire to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
We also look for:
- An interest in environmental impact and sustainability.
- We may consider candidates in Czech Republic, Austria or Poland who have fluent German and English and relevant experience of the Germany market.
- Experience in Health and Safety across Czech Republic, Poland, Austria would be helpful, but not essential.
- Experience within Medical Devices and/or Life Sciences would be desirable.
