QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

Excellent communication skills
Can work independently or as part of a team
Ability to maintain a positive approach
Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant
Fluent level of English both written and oral

Responsibilities

The role of a senior care worker is to care for older people as well as manage other care workers. Senior care workers provide a safe environment for older people and facilitate their comfort. Responsibilities include:
Lead the team of care assistants they are responsible for and train new staff.
To be responsible for the assessment of care needs of the residents in your allocated group in the unit.
To carry out all relevant forms of care, on the allocated residents
To work as part of a team in ensuring that all needs of care are delivered to the highest standards.
To work in the area allocated by the Director of Nursing or CNM or Staff Nurse.
To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene: cleanliness and neatness.
Report any changes to the nurses on duty re the residents.
Report on, non -compliance of staff to the nurse.
Supervise new staff and orientate to nursing home.
Resident care must come first, and this has to be maintained at high standard.
