The NM Department of Health’s Center for Medical Cannabis and Psilocybin works to enroll patients in the Medical Cannabis Program and ensure compliance with statute, rules, and regulations regarding enrollment. The Center for Medical Cannabis and Psilocybin also educates individuals, community partners, law enforcement, judiciary, and other partners regarding the effects of cannabis and psilocybin. The program also gathers and compiles statistics on patient use and access.
Why does the job exist?
The position will provide outreach and education to a variety of stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the development of training materials and for the Medical Cannabis and Psilocybin Programs. The position will also support the team with research, analysis, compilation and dissemination of health information regarding medical cannabis, cannabis, and medical psilocybin use.
How does it get done?
The position works closely with Health Education team to create materials, lead outreach events, and support work of advisory boards and committees. The person in this position will provide presentations to constituents and stakeholders and organize public meetings. This person will be responsible for supporting the work of the Center for Medical Cannabis and Psilocybin
including generating reports, patient registry development and use, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or Education and one (1) year of experience in a health-related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required.
