We’re looking for a practical, hands-on advisor to be the frontline “go‑to” person for H&S advice. You’ll support our teams to deliver work safely, on time and to a high standard, often acting as the safety face with clients and key stakeholders. You’ll help drive our safety culture and make sure our systems work in practice, not just on paper. Opportunities for professional development and further H&S training Supportive leadership and a strong, people‑focused culture The chance to make a real difference to the safety and wellbeing of our people Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Support frontline workers and supervisors to apply H&S processes on site and “get stuff done” safely Act as custodian of H&S systems (documentation, reporting and training software) and ensure company systems are implemented as intended Participate in and/or lead pre‑start meetings, risk assessments and incident reporting Coach and mentor people on “what good looks like” and help solve H&S problems in the workplace Lead or support incident investigations and apply Just Culture principles locally Deliver basic in‑house H&S training and toolbox sessions Provide support across multiple sites, including some travel, longer workdays and occasional weekend/night work Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with Operational experience in construction, contracting or industrial environments (supervisor/frontline manager level preferred), or prior H&S advisor experience in a high‑risk industry A Health & Safety qualification (Level 4/6) obtained or in progress Strong computer skills and confidence training others on H&S apps and software Advanced skills such as conflict resolution, negotiation or change management (desirable) A current Class 1 driver’s licence and the physical fitness to work on large, uneven sites The right “person fit”: puts safety first, hard‑working, can‑do, reliable, practical, a step‑ahead problem solver, team player, keen to learn, respectful and a genuine “good sort” who takes pride in a job well done He pai te mahi, he pai ngā painga | Good work, good benefits At Fulton Hogan, we genuinely care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools and opportunities they need to succeed and grow with us.
