HDR is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people across Australia. This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne and offers flexible working arrangements, with the option of a part-time schedule (3 or 4 days per week) or an agreed flexible arrangement depending on the successful candidate. This is a great opportunity for an experienced safety professional who enjoys working collaboratively, influencing positive safety outcomes, and making a meaningful impact across a diverse portfolio of projects. In the role of Senior Health & Safety Advisor, we’ll count on you to: Act as a visible champion for health, wellbeing and safety, supporting teams with practical advice and guidance. Support safety planning, deliver health and safety training, review safety documentation and contribute to initiatives across a range of projects and sectors. Create and implement comprehensive HSE Project Plans Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment with HSE Project Plans Conduct regular site inspections and HSE audits to monitor compliance Prepare reports to support ongoing HSE efforts Provide advice and recommendations to senior leadership on HSE matters Work alongside Operational Leadership and Human Resources to strengthen wellbeing initiatives and address psychosocial risks. Chair the Australian Safety Committee, prepare safety performance reporting, support SH&E program implementation, and assist with incident reporting and investigations. About You You’re a proactive safety professional who enjoys building relationships and influencing positive outcomes. You will bring: Demonstrated technical experience in health and safety management, ideally within an architecture and engineering consultancy.Experience working in health and safety management in an office environment and a project/site environment. Knowledge of mental health, psychosocial risk management, and the ability to foster a culture of wellbeing. Excellent communication skills including experience producing high quality reports, training, briefings, articles and other project related documentation for a range of audiences. Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence outcomes. Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and adaptability Willingness to travel across HDR’s Australian offices. #LI-CG3 Required Qualifications Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health & Safety preferred; Tertiary Qualifications are a plus.
