In Ireland, Turner & Townsend provides a broad spectrum of SHQ services across both property and infrastructure sectors, managing delivery of these services across an extensive range of project / programme values, from €100k to €1 billion Job Description We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Senior SHQ Consultant with a good track record in delivering across a broad range of projects and programmes. The successful candidate would be responsible for leading and / or supporting in the Safety, Health & Quality team’s delivery of projects in Ireland in accordance with legislative requirements and Turner and Townsend internal quality procedures. The role includes acting as the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and providing SHQ consultancy services to clients, conductiong inspections / audits and providing clients with expert technical advice. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to lead projects and manage their own time effectively. They will also be expected to contribute to the management of internal procedures and the development of junior members of staff. An overview of the responsibilties is: PSDP Preparing and submitting project AF1, Confirming what safety file information exists and making sure it is available to design team, Ensure coordination of the different design safety aspects of the design, between the various design disciplines, Prepare a Preliminary Safety and Health Plan, Input into the health and safety requirements for the Tender documentation, Agree with the client the contents and format of the Safety File, Attend design and progress meetings throughout the lifecycle of the project, Coordinate temporary works between the permanent and temporary works designers, Prepare and submit the Safety File to the Client on completion of projects. SHQ Consultancy Undertake inspections and audits and report to the client in an agreed format Review and comment on project health & safety documentation – e.g. Construction Stage Safety & Health Plans, Emergency Plans, Risk Assessment Method Statements, Temporary Works and Lift Plans. Review records of statutory inspections Attend RAMS review, high risk workshops and other meeting as required Attend accident and incident reviews and report to the client on causation Provide expert advice, assistance and support on HSE requirements Qualifications The candidate will have the following key attributes: Have extensive knowledge of Irish safety, health and environmental legislation and and understanding of construction best practice Have knowledge of the implementation of ISO45001 and ISO 14001 management system standards Be familiar with a variety of construction projects and a sound understanding of the safety and health issues associated with that work Be a problem solver with the capacity to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify key issues and produce logical, practical and acceptable solutions Have excellent communication / interpersonal skills including the ability to prepare / deliver presentations and lead meetings Possess the ability to compile inspection reports / audits and undertake statistical analysis (e.g. trend analysis) in a timely manner Be assertive, fair and consistent when implementing Company or legislative requirements Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities Have commercial awareness and be able to identify and pursue business opportunities IT literite, being proficient in the use of MS Office as a minimum Possess a full Irish driving license Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a similar qualification awarded by a recognised institution Circa 10 years + relevant experience Membership of a recognised professional body is preferable Additional Information Ongoing training and development provided.
