The Opportunity We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team at Ritchies. You will be based in Auckland at our Head Office in Swanson, reporting to our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead. As part of the People, Safety and Culture team, you will be a subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance to our leaders and employees in all things Health and Safety. You will be a first point of contact for our people in incident management, policy guidance and managing processes effectively within our systems. You will be pivotal in maintaining and further developing a constructive and supportive partnership with leaders to continue Ritchies' journey as a safe and healthy place to work. About Us Ritchies is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading passenger transport companies with a team of more than 2,000 people providing coach and charter services right across the country. We partner with regional councils and schools to supply public transport services as well as offering a range of bus and coach hire services to businesses and the general public. You would be joining us at an exciting time in Ritchies’ history as we gear up to decarbonise our fleet and move to a more sustainable public transport model. About You You are a health and safety professional with at least two years hands-on experience of transferring knowledge into practice, ideally in a complex organisation similar to us at Ritchies. You possess a broad range of risk identification and management techniques and have proven experience of applying these within an organisational setting. You have demonstrable experience working with internal stakeholders and coaching and supporting them to use the in-house tools as effectively as they can. You have experience with ISO certifications (9001, 45001, 14001). You pride yourself on your eye for detail and your time management skills. Especially when it comes to being able to collect and interpret data. You can provide supporting narratives and prepare a range of reports as required. You’re a great team player and can communicate with a variety of people and groups in a manner that is concise and easy to understand that results in favourable outcomes and high engagement from participants. Your Skills Proven experience maintaining incident register & investigation/reporting accidents Self-starter Excellent leadership skills Holding or working towards a NZQA Level 4 H&S qualification or equivalent. Strong communicator Experience in inspections/audits Interest in public transport Experience in implementing H&S systems and programmes Conversant with and has experience of the effects that NZs multi-cultural workforce can have on worker’s attitude, especially when introducing internal change management processes. Experience in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 preparation, maintenance and auditing.
