We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and caring individual to join our multidisciplinary team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust based in the Breast Radiology Department.
As a Senior HCA, you will be a hugely valuable in supporting our nursing team providing care to our patients.
The department provides a service for women attending the South East London NHS Breast Screening Programme and a breast symptomatic diagnostic imaging service for patients referred from the Breast Care Unit and external hospitals. The unit performs ultrasound, mammograms (breast X-ray), breast biopsies under ultrasound and x-ray guidance and pre-operative procedures for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Note: Advert will be closed early if we receive significant number of applications.
The clinical role is working closely with the Breast Radiologists and nursing team assisting with breast biopsy procedures.
Setting up biopsy equipment (following appropriate training and assessment of competence).
Assisting with procedures.
Basic wound care.
Supporting potentially anxious/worried patients throughout the biopsy and advising on post biopsy after care.
Manage and maintain stock levels and general administrative duties.
