Nursdoc are actively recruiting experienced Senior Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated team supporting nursing and care homes across Aylesbury. We are proud to be partnering with a respected care provider committed to delivering exceptional, person-centred support.
This is an ideal opportunity for Senior HCAs who are passionate about leading by example in a care home environment that promotes independence, life skills, and meaningful engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience as a Senior HCA or Healthcare Assistant with team-leading duties in a UK care setting
  • Proven experience in medication administration and shift supervision
  • Up-to-date DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via Nursdoc
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Compassionate, proactive, and confident in supporting both residents and team members

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering high standards of care while also providing leadership and guidance to a team of HCAs. Working closely with nurses and the wider care team, you will ensure that residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs are consistently met with dignity and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide hands-on support with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and continence care
  • Administer medication in line with care plans and regulatory standards
  • Lead and support junior HCAs during shifts, including delegation of duties and mentoring
  • Monitor, record, and report changes in residents’ health, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Liaise effectively with nurses, managers, and families to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Champion a positive and inclusive environment through companionship and resident-focused activities
  • Support with risk assessments, care planning, and implementation of person-centred care plans
