We’re Hiring: Senior Healthcare Assistant
Location: 17 Harley Street, London
Hours per Week: Flexible (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: From £28,000 per annum, depending on experience

We are seeking a capable, caring, and committed Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our expert clinical team at UME Health, Harley Street. Supporting world-class diagnostic and outpatient services, this is an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in delivering patient care of the highest standard.
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Senior HCA, you’ll work closely with clinicians, nurses, and radiographers to provide safe, seamless, and compassionate care. You’ll assist with diagnostic procedures including venepuncture, ECGs, and cardiac monitoring, while also contributing to administrative tasks and ensuring patients feel well supported throughout their clinical journey.
Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support & Patient Care

  • Carry out venepuncture and assist with ECG recordings
  • Fit and remove Holter and ABPM monitors (training provided if needed)
  • Support clinicians during consultations and procedures
  • Monitor patient wellbeing and ensure comfort throughout their visit
  • Prepare clinic rooms and maintain clinical equipment
  • Chaperone patients and uphold dignity, privacy, and respect at all times

Administrative & Operational Duties

  • Maintain accurate patient records and audit data
  • Input clinical activity on systems and charge sheets
  • Support with appointment scheduling and inventory checks
  • Contribute to infection control, safety, and cleanliness in all areas
  • Adhere to UME Health’s policies, procedures, and clinical standards

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Certified in venepuncture
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Confident with IT systems and clinical documentation
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Calm, professional, and proactive approach to patient care

Desirable

  • Experience working in a diagnostic or private clinical environment
  • Cannulation skills (or willingness to be trained)
  • Competence in ECGs, Holter monitors, and ABPM
