The Drake Hotel is looking for a Senior Hotel Sales Manager to help drive revenue and make our hotel the top choice for business travellers, consortia partners, the entertainment industry, and leisure guests. This position reports in to the General Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A passion for hotel sales and a knack for making meaningful connections
  • At least 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, in the consortia, entertainment, business travel, or leisure sectors
  • A proven track record of hitting (and exceeding!) financial targets while keeping clients engaged and happy
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. You’re a pro at juggling multiple accounts and priorities without breaking a sweat
  • A collaborative mindset and leadership skills that make you a valuable player on our team

Responsibilities
  • Stay on top of the market - know the competition, trends, and what makes The Drake stand out. You’ll use this knowledge to sell smarter and secure more business
  • Establish a client base of key corporate accounts through active solicitation and qualifying and prospecting new business
  • Prepare detailed, on-brand sales presentations tailored to each lead or agency
  • Participate in weekly sales and revenue strategy sessions
  • Proactively seek out new business in transient segments, leveraging industry tools like Hotelligence and other sales platforms to identify and connect with potential clients
  • Maximize every opportunity - up-selling and creative deal structuring will be your best friends to ensure we’re driving the highest revenue possible
  • Create revenue forecasts and budgets, keeping an eye on the bigger picture while also diving into the details
  • Represent The Drake at key industry trade shows, networking events, and client meetings, both locally and beyond, staying ahead of trends and building strong relationships that drive business
  • Collaborate with our management team to shape and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan focused on growing our transient business
  • Lead the charge on transient sales promotions - getting the word out, ensuring smooth execution, and tracking success
  • Build lasting relationships with clients, from entertainment and consortia partners to business travel managers and leisure guests, through sales calls, industry events, FAM trips, and more
  • Strengthen our presence in the local and global market by connecting with key players and positioning The Drake as the go-to hotel for transient travellers
  • Keep an eye on financial performance - drive revenue, manage expenses, and make sure we’re delivering strong returns for ownership
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of hotel inventory, event spaces, amenities, packages, inclusions, promotions + policies; as well as in-depth knowledge of all hotel F&B offerings, catering menus, bar and beverage offerings, venue pricing and configurations
