Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Kaycan has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr HR Business Partner Alexandria, ON to join our team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee relations, benefits, Human Resource Information Systems, compensation, training, onboarding, and compliance with all applicable local legislation.
In addition, the Sr. HR Business Partner will assist the Regional Human Resources Manager and other key clients as identified by Saint-Gobain HR leadership with the implementation of strategic HR programs. This position will play an important role with helping the site to achieve business goals and objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

HR Partner Support to client groups-Employee Relations

  • Respond to employee relations issues in a unionized environment and work effectively with all parties involved to address and escalate to HR Management as required.
  • Ensure that all guidance, decisions making, and solutions offered will be in accordance to all applicable employment legislations as well as internal policies, processes and procedures and ensure the best interest of both the company and its employees have been taken into account.
  • Prepare HR communications and keep HR communication boards/channels and tools up to date.
  • Participates in department and site level initiatives- JHSC.
  • Coach leaders on creating an environment where positive employee relations are foundational to the successful outcome of high employee engagement and retention in service of the successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Oversees all labour relations at the plant, grievance handling and arbitration preparation, union negotiations participation.
  • Lead internal investigations on employment related matters.
  • Interpretation and implementation of relevant employment practices (e.g. employment and human rights legislation, collective agreements, labour law, et
